Lagos Police Intercepts 10 Loaded Bags Of illegal Substance Handover Suspects To NDLEA

The Nigeria Police Force Lagos State Command has intercepted 10 bags of hard drugs in a successful operation and arrested the suspects.

The Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa through his PRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin told journalists in a press conference today Tuesday 18th July, 2023 that the Lagos Police just intercepted 10 bags of hard drugs.

The Lagos Police have done some investigations into the case and decided to hand over the suspects and the exhibits to the relevant authorities in charge of combating drugs abuse, the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA to conclude the investigation thoroughly and prosecute the suspects according to the law.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin reiterated that CP Idowu Owohunwa is committed to partnering with the public and NDLEA to ensure that Lagos state becomes a drug free society under his leadership as Lagos state Police boss.

The Assistant Commander in charge of Narcotics, NDLEA, Zofun Joseph Setonji deeply appreciated the Lagos State Police Command ably led by CP Idowu Owohunwa for another job well done. Zofun said that all hands must be on deck to ensure that we rid the country of hard drugs.

In his response , he said, ” Today, we are witnessing another positive evidence of a healthy synergy between the Nigeria Police Force and NDLEA. We want to encourage members of the public not to hoard relevant information that will help NDLEA to win the war against drugs abuse” , he emphasized.

Assistant Commander Zofun signed the hand over notes presented by the Lagos Police Command, addressing journalists he admonished the communities to speak up as the consumption of these items is dangerous to the mental health of our youths, he commended the effort of police for a Successful operation.

After which officers of NDLEA took away the suspects and the exhibits.
