Lulu Kennedy founder and director fashion East, a None For Profit Talent Incubator debut the 2024 GTCO fashion weekend masterclass this year, Since founding the fashion east in year 2000, she has been rejoined for fostering next generation creatives and building a community where young talent can thrive.
During Lulu’s masterclass session she talked about the competitive fashion industry, how caving a nitch for your brand will give upcoming fashion designers identity,
when asked about the challenges that could deter young fashion-prenuers in the industry, she responded by stating what she went through and how she stumbled into fashion when she was at her lowest, the challenge of being a single mum and with a sick and dying mother, led her to get creative without wallowing in the situation that could have stopped her drive.
She further said high note for her in her journey is consistence and commitment to your passion especially as a creative designer to be distinct from the pull of other designers, having support of those that believed in her skill made her conquer what she set her mind to.
Lulu Kennedy said she look forward to working with Nigeria designers as she was impressed with collection of work she has seen so far at the Gtco fashion weekend, she further appreciate GTCO for putting together a fantastic event as the fashion weekend she was glad to be part of such creative and incredible event and look forward to future collaboration with GTCO.
