NSCDC, NAVY TO COLLABORATE IN CURBING ILLEGAL OIL BUNKERING AND VANDALIZATION OF CRITICAL NATIONAL ASSETS

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra State Command has solicited the collaboration of the Nigerian Navy towards strengthening the security architecture in the state.


The NSCDC State Commandant, Vincent Ogu JP made the appeal today Friday, 9th of July 2021 while on a familiarization visit to the Commanding Officer Naval Outpost Onitsha/ Odekpe (NOPO), Navy Captain Adekunle Okeniyi.
He stressed the need for continuous professional and quality collaboration between the two Agencies to ensure Security of lives and properties and protection of Government’s Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

Mr. Ogu said the synergy was particularly expedient in tackling the menace of illegal oil bunkering, oil dealings, including diversion and smuggling of Petroleum products by unauthorized persons, and pipeline vandalism in and around the State with a promise to diligently prosecute and secure conviction of any suspected Vandal(s) handed over to the command by the Navy. The State Commandant reiterated his commitment to eradicate all illegal oil bunkering in the state and applauded the Commanding Officer for the support and a cordial working relationship he extends to NSCDC in the state.

Addressing the State Commandant, *Navy* *Captain Adekunle* *Okeniyi* . underscored the place of stronger synergy among security agencies in the state. According to him, bulk of what Nigerian Navy had achieved so far were neceissated by the intelligence provided by NSCDC.
He assured the NSCDC State Commandant of robust, rigorous and unflinching support of the Navy to eradicate all forms of vandalization that could lead to economic sabotage in the State.
Capt. Okeniyi posited as partners there was need for both bodies to co-operate in the state to further strengthen the already existing working relationship it has established for effective results.
